The Development Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of fundraising for UTBB under the direction of the Executive Director. Fundraising efforts will include corporate donor, private donor, income-generation, foundation, and government funding approaches and strategies. In addition, the Development Director will provide communications to the UTBB Executive Director on grant reporting and fundraising developments on a weekly basis and more frequently as directed. The Development Director will attend Board meetings and conduct fundraising research and provide; fundraising updates prior to meetings of the UTBB. Additional responsibilities include; strategic planning, grants management, grant reporting, funder research, funder outreach, grant writing and other duties as assigned.DURATION: Open until filled.REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:The Development Director will report directly to the Executive Director of the United Tribes of Bristol Bay (UTBB). Grant proposals/reports, concept papers, letters of interest, budgets, work plans, job descriptions and timelines will be developed by the UTBB Development Director and approved by the Executive Director.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan, organize and direct the fundraising efforts of the UTBB work including funder outreach, and education, funder research, grant writing, partnership development, and strategic planning. Grant Reporting and ensure that grants are performed according to grant agreements, timelines, and budgets and agreed upon deliverables and outcomes. Identify and secure funding for UTBB (Seek funding in-order to diversify income sources and develop and implement fundraising strategies and efforts aimed at furthering the organizational internal and external capacities). Monitor and submit required reports related to each program including all; monthly, quarterly, midterm and final progress and evaluation reports, with efficiency, for Funder approval. Prepare written communications as directed by the UTBB Executive Director Works closely with the UTBB Executive Director and maintain daily / weekly contact. Assist with the development of an Annual Budget for approval of the UTBB Executive Director / Executive Committee. Prepare timely reports for UTBB Executive Director and disseminate prior to meetings. Other duties / tasks as assigned: (Undertake special assignments as assigned by the ExecutiveDirector.QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:Formal Education preferred and must demonstrate proven fundraising capability. Must have working knowledge of grant implementation and be familiar with administration of tribal / non-profit organizations. Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills. Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work independently are required.Must be willing to refine skills wherever necessary and to travel extensively. The Development Director will be on probation for 3 months; at which time a formal written evaluation will take place. Subsequent evaluations will take place annually from the date of hire.
