2019 Bristol Bay Youth Leadership Forum

The 2019 Bristol Bay Youth Leadership Forum will be held Dec. 4-6, in conjunction with BBNC’s Bristol Bay Leadership Forum. December 3 and 7 will be travel days. Students in grades 9-12 from Southwest Region School District, Lake and Peninsula School District, Bristol Bay Borough School District and Dillingham City School District are all eligible to apply.

Here is the cover letter with more information, the student application, and the required application reference form!

The Bristol Bay Youth Leadership Forum provides opportunities for students to engage in cultural activities and presentations that focus on community initiatives, participate in dialogues regarding current issues impacting Native communities, and gain exposure to Alaska Native leaders from around the state. Participants will receive one college credit, and travel expenses will be covered for students selected to participate.

Please send completed application packets to the UTBB office by fax at: 907-842-1853 or scan and email to UTBB Community Engagement Director, Delores Larson at dlarson@utbb.org. Deadline to apply is Friday, October 25, 2019.

United Tribes of Bristol Bay will host a Fishermen's Happy Hour at the Sea Inn in downtown Dillingham at 7 p.m. on June 14! There will be an update on the work to Protect Bristol Bay and a way to take action to stop Pebble Mine, as well as the latest Protect Bristol Bay gear available for sale, great door prizes, and a split the pot raffle.

The Wild Film Screening

The Wild, a film about Bristol Bay's wild salmon run and the work to protect it, will be shown in Dillingham on June 11 at 7 p.m. in the Elementary Gym. The film features many Bristol Bay faces, and Seattle Filmmaker Mark Titus will be in attendance at the screening.

United Tribes of Bristol Bay will host the kick-off of the Protect Bristol Bay harbor booth in the DILLINGHAM boat harbor on June 7 from Noon to 2 pm! Join UTBB for a free hot dog BBQ, the latest info on Pebble and how to take action, door prizes and more! We'll have new Protect Bristol Bay gear for sale. The harbor booth is located in the Dillingham harbor right across from the PAF boatyard.
