Create Social Media Content to Help Bristol Bay Turnout to VOTE in the General Election!
What: A non-partisan* social media content creation contest that encourages voter turnout in Bristol Bay communities.
Create a short video or meme (a.k.a. a static image or image carousel) that encourages your friends and neighbors to go vote in the General Election. Your content can be about anything related to turning out to vote in the election, including things like:
Answering the question, “Why should you and I vote?” “Why is voting important?”
Share key information for voting in your community: polling place location, hours, etc.
Share how to vote by mail, request your ballot, or vote early in person
Share how to request special needs voting
Announce a deadline. e.g. e.g. “October 24th is the deadline to request a vote-by-mail ballot!”
Important note on your content! It must be *non-partisan, which means your video or image(s) cannot endorse or back any particular candidate or ballot measure. It has to be purely educational regarding why or how to vote. If you mention the name of one candidate, you must mention ALL candidates for that race equally (that includes verbal and visually).
Why: Voting shapes issues important to our communities. Social media is a great way to encourage your friends and community to get out and vote in the General Election this November!
When: For a chance to win, entries are due no later than 11:59 PM on October 20 (2 weeks before election day)
Where: Virtual and open to all Bristol Bay communities
Who can enter: Any Bristol Bay resident, age 15 and up
Content Guidelines:
The sky is the limit in creating your meme or video! So get creative and use humor, a heartfelt story, or an eye-catching graphic to inspire your friends and neighbors to vote!
Include the name of your community in the created content.
It is preferred if the content includes community or cultural elements (such as elders, youth, events, your local polling place, etc.) but this is not required.
Must have permission from everyone featured in video and/or permission to use any images
Content must be accurate. A member of the Bristol Bay Votes Coalition will review all entries before they are officially accepted and shared to ensure they are nonpartisan and include accurate voting information.

Length: :15 - :90 seconds maximum
9:16 vertical aspect ratio
1080x1920 pixels
MP4 or MOV file format
Avoid copyrighted audio: Don't upload someone else's song yourself. Pick a sound from the app's “trending audio” library, or make your own.
Captions recommended
Image/Meme
4:5 vertical or 1:1 aspect ratio
1080 px width minimum
JPG or PNG file format
Use large fonts with high contrast for ease of reading
To Submit:
Email to admin@utbb.org
Include: your name and community.
Video submissions must be uploaded to this folder. Do not attach your video to your email!
Meme submissions may be attached to the emails.
We will verify your entry for accuracy and nonpartisanship.
Sharing your video:
If you have a public account: You may share the video and tag organizational members of the Bristol Bay Votes Coalition once it has been reviewed and accepted. Please wait for a confirmation email from admin@utbb.org before sharing on your personal channels.
If you have a private account: members of the Bristol Bay Votes Coalition will share the video on your behalf.
More than one entry is allowed if desired

Judging:
All participants will be eligible to receive a prize for entry! Potential winning entries will be considered in the following categories:
* People’s Choice: image/video shared by UTBB with most engagement (likes + comments + shares across platforms)
* Most inspiring
* Funniest
